 At Troy United Methodist Church we have several excellent paid and volunteer staff who bring their gifts and talents to ministry.

 

Rev. Leslie Byrd

Leslie begins her fourth year at Troy UMC. She has served churches in the Central Texas Conference since 1995. She received her Bachelor of Science in Christian Education at Texas Wesleyan University and Masters of Divinity at Brite Divinity – Texas Christian University and loves serving our Lord. Leslie’s first job was secretarial, and as a child she dreamed of being a Graphic Artist, which was her first career until God called her into full-time Ordained ministry. She loves Mexican food, her favorite movie is “Apollo 13”, loves crafting, working in the yard and traveling. That which
brings her the greatest joy is her family. Leslie’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, and one of her favorite characteristics of Christ is his
unconditional love. Her dream for this church is – “That we would continue to listen for God’s guiding presence and how God is calling us to serve in this place and the surrounding community.” Leslie, and husband John, have been married 38 years and they have 3 grown children and 1 grandchild.
Betty Hester
Administrative Assistant

Betty has served at Troy UMC since 1990. She always dreamed of being a church secretary and is truly gifted with caring for people. Betty’s first job was working in a jewelry store and as a child she dreamed of being a nurse. She loves hamburgers, spending time with family…especially the grandchildren, and that which brings her great joy is family and time in worship. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 118:24, and one of her favorite characteristics of Christ is his Grace. Betty’s dream for this church is
growth. Betty, and husband Richard, have been married 47 years now and they have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
Cameron Roucloux
Music Director

Cameron has served at Troy UMC as the Music Director and Praise and Worship Leader since October 2013. He felt God’s call on his life as a senior in high school and pursued an education at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a BM in Church Music and is pursuing a Masters in Music Education/Conducting at Texas A&M Commerce. His first job was in construction – site clean-up and as a child he dreamed of being a music
conductor. Cameron loves chicken-fried steak and Mexican food, the movie Braveheart, watching sports, movies and shows. That which brings him the greatest joy is to build meaningful relationships with people. Cameron’s favorite bible verse is Romans 8:37-39, and his favorite characteristic of Christ is that Jesus used people who were deemed socially unacceptable in every aspect of his ministry. This is the beauty of the gospel! Cameron’s dream for this church is, “that it would continue to reach the community for the Kingdom of God. Cameron, and wife Jamie,
have been married for 2 years and have two Great Danes.
Joey Gresham
Youth Minister

Joey has served in youth ministry at Troy UMC since 1999. Joey’s love for young people and inviting them to give their life to Jesus Christ is his passion. His first job was with Western Auto and as a child he dreamed of owning his own business. Joey loves steak or lasagna, the movie, “Lord of the Rings” and kayaking. There are so many things that bring him great joy
in life, his favorite bible verse is Psalm 27:1, and Joey’s favorite characteristic of Jesus Christ is his patience. When asked what is his dream for this church, Joey responded, “Growth – while being a church that continually seeks God.” Joey, and his wife Amber, have been married for 4 years.
Christin Ivey
Children’s & Family Minister

Christin has served at Troy UMC since 2008. She loves to talk about Jesus and help guide children and families into a relationship with God.
Christin has a Masters of Social Work degree and the first job she ever held was collecting and labeling insects for agricultural research. As a
child, she dreamed of being a gymnast or a psychologist. Her favorite food is a cheeseburger, her favorite movie, “Private Eyes” and she loves to read and pretend she is crafty. That which brings her the greatest joy is seeing her daughters be the hands and feet of Christ. Christin’s favorite bible verse is Matthew 5:41 and one of her favorite characteristics of Christ is that he welcomed ALL. When asked about her dream for this church, Christin said, “To see this church be a beacon of light to the community.” Christin, and husband Gaylon, have been married 15 years and have two daughters.
Jamie Roucloux

Jamie has served at Troy UMC as a media and communications volunteer since January 2014. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a BA in Graphic Design in 2013. Her first job was at the local Brenham Community Education in high school. She always dreamed of being a famous photographer. Jamie loves Blue Bell ice cream, the movie Eat Pray Love, and quilting. Jamie’s favorite bible verse is Psalm 56:3 and her favorite characteristic of Christ is that Jesus loves unconditionally. Jamie’s dream for this church is that all will feel welcomed into this beautiful fellowship of believers. Jamie and her husband Cameron have been married for 2 years and have two Great Danes.
ShaShawna Bush
Women’s Ministry &
Stephen Ministry

ShaShawna joined our staff as a volunteer in 2017. She loves to serve in ministry and felt God’s tap on her shoulder. ShaShawna saw a place where
women could be served and then felt strongly called to train as a Stephen Leader to begin Stephen Ministry in this church. She also Co-Chairs the
Family Ministry area of the church as well. ShaShawna has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M and her very first job was as a waitress in her
mother’s restaurant. As a child, she dreamed of being a lawyer to help abused women. Her favorite food is Chinese, she loves all kinds of movies and she loves to read and go boating with her family. That which brings her the greatest joy is spending time with family and planning church
events. ShaShawna’s favorite bible verse is Hebrews 11:1 and her favorite characteristic of Christ is his compassion. When asked what her dream for this church is, she said, “To grow and grow women’s ministry offerings.” ShaShawna, and husband Kirby, have been married for 18 years and have
2 boys.
Cindy Havard
Joy Ministry

Cindy joined our staff as a volunteer in the summer of 2017. She felt God’s calling her to help design a Senior Adult Ministry for this church called JOY (Just Older Youth) MINISTRIES. Her passion for those 55 and older and the growing needs of the community have allowed her to put together a team of adults to help make this ministry well-rounded. Cindy has a BSE Degree from Truman University and her very first job was babysitting. As a child, she dreamed of being a Physical Education teacher and went on to teach elementary age until retirement. Cindy’s favorite food is French Silk pie, her favorite movie is, “The Santa Claus”, and she loves to read and go for walks. That which brings her great joy is her grandchildren. Cindy’s favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13 and her favorite characteristic of Christ is his willingness to forgive. When asked what her dreams for this church are, she responded, “That we continue to be guided by God as we reach out to other in the community and the world.” Cindy, and husband Don, have been married for 27 years and have 2 grown children
and 3 grandchildren.
