Purpose

Stephen Ministry is a caring ministry. Highly trained Stephen Ministers walk beside anyone that is hurting or struggling with any of life’s difficulties. Stephen Ministry is confidential and open to anyone that needs help, not just members of Troy United Methodist Church. Men are matched with men and women with women. A Stephen Minister and Care Receiver will usually meet weekly or at least twice a month to talk.  Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, NRSV).

Please see ShaShawna Bush or Pastor David if you are interested in being assigned a Stephen Minister.
Annual Events

Stephen Minister training takes place annually, usually in the fall. During this 50 hours of Training, Stephen Ministers are taught how to support someone as they walk through some of life’s most difficult moments. Please see ShaShawna Bush or Pastor David if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister.
